There are regional rocks

Between us

Rocks so numerous

They can border

the Amazon

Rocks so huge

They can fill

the Demerara

Rocks which spills of

forgiven debts

can't cover

Silent Rocks

Which can go

unnoticed

Forever

There are regional rocks

Between us

Rocks that lament

Our energy bounty

Rocks which rejoice

When refineries are empty

There are Rocks of plenty

and rocks of envy

Rocks which still say

Dem Trini

But we

must break these rocks

And lay our flags on top

For on land much oil

Lays dormant

OIL OF RELEASE
Tributes of highway
and complex
Bear the names of two men
Who incited riots at Apex

And companies by which
Oil haemorrhaged
To the home of the brave
And throne of Royalty
From this once Crown Colony

No more a Butler
at London's palace
Or a Cola
in the line-up of benefits
This nation pays hommage

To these two men
And their dugout
tributaries
To flow Oil money
to local employees

And without shovel or hoe
Without arrow or bow
This worker-warrior
movement

United and ignited
Fights for Freedom
And employee rights

NATURAL FORCES

The plants

The jetties

The berths

The tanks

The buildings

The wells

The ranks

Will one day

weather away

Like 16 billion

once retained

Vaporized like gases

Like costs overheads

from partners

Return unchecked

As losses

Like management

with poor strategy

get written divorces

There are

Natural Forces

And these run their courses

When provisions

are not made

When plans are not

Implemented

When resources are

taken for granted

And anything that is not

decommissioned

Will surely

weather away
