Whose economy
Are we building
With our blood money
And sweat collateral?
The tainos, the caribs
And the slaves
And some who lie in
shallow graves
Who lost
their blood religiously
For the sake of
this economy?
Whose economy
Are we building
With our blood money
And sweat collateral?
The labourers who came
cocoa piols,
caribbean forefathers
cane cutters,
railroad builders
rice planters?
Whose economy
Are we building
With our blood money
And sweat collateral?
When with technology
we drill and drain
The Earth’s blood
And it’s remains
So that crude wealth
Flow through
Our veins
To the reservoirs
Of neo-colonist?
Whose economy
Are we building
With our oil money
And earth collateral?
