A well drilled for oil or gas 

but yielding none

Has mysteriously

emerged 

above ground 

With incomplete projects

And impromptu 

abandonment of course

 which lead to

high altitudes

of economic loss

Here, only lawsuits 

insist 

as wastewater  flows

to fill  voids

where dry wells

persist

Above ground

from Sealots

To Caroni

and  empty pipelines

create parodies

When gas to liquids

converted

in the imagination

of many 

heads

still flow overheads

in these dry hole  beds

Of source rocks

which lack porosity

So  scope of works 

continues to vary

 And ultra low

sulphur diesel plant

Needs  more money

to improve quality

At subterranean capacity

And a well drilled
for oil or gas 

but yielding none

Has mysteriously

emerged 

above ground
