Downstream

but no Midstream

No rivers

No seas

To carry these

dreams

Just streams

which refine

and explore

but nothing more

And no midstream 

When  oil trickles towards

maximum capacity
And oil settles

below cost margins

Of profitability

And oil creates

Slippery structures

Of instability

Upstream

Downstream

But no midstream

to innovate and
current diversity

To create  unrelated 

subsidiaries

To link new entities

horizontally

or vertically

To Petro dollars

which just survive

But do not thrive
